It's easy to start a water garden with an assortment of 3 different colored water lilies. The large red flowers of the Water Lily Attraction remain open from the middle of the morning until late afternoon and deepen in color as the days go by. Water Lily Alba's white, cup-shaped blooms float effortlessly on the water just above green, nearly circular-shaped leaves that are notched in the center. The white flowers with bright yellow stamens bloom from June through August, remain open from mid-morning until late afternoon and last several days. Water Lily Sioux's light yellow flowers float gently on the surface of the water above green lily-pads mottled with red. As the days progress, the light yellow changes to deep orange and then turns to a coppery red. During the heat of the day, the pads of a single plant provide much-needed shade for aquatic life. The plants themselves help supply oxygen to the water while assisting in minimizing algae blooms.
