Big Blue Liriope, commonly called Lily Turf or Monkey Grass, is an ornamental grass native to Asia that grows on average 12-15" tall and wide. This grass produces lilac-lavender flowers in the Summer, which then turn into ebony-black berries in the Fall. Big Blue is considered evergreen in warmer climates but will turn brown in cooler areas in the late fall and then come back up in Spring. In both warm and cooler climates, it is recommended to mow this grass down in early spring to clear out any dead foliage before new leaves begin to develop. This grass looks great planted at the base of a tree, or in mass plantings to create a deer-resistant display with heat, drought, and humidity resistance. It requires little to no maintenance and is easy to establish. During the first season water regularly (2-3 times per week) to encourage deep root growth. --- Includes a 2.5 Qt pot of Big Blue Liriope (live plant) in plastic pots with soil. The pots will be wrapped in a plastic wrap to retain moisture and hold any soil that shakes lose in shipping. The plant will be shipped in a cardboard box that has been designed to hold the plant in place to reduce any chance of damage in transit. As soon as the plant arrives it should be un-packaged, un-wrapped, and watered. ---These plants ship from the Gulf Coast of Alabama. We recommend that customers outside of the southeastern United States order during the milder times of year (Spring/Fall) to prevent heat/cold stress during transit.
