The daylily (Hemerocallis) is considered a sure bet perennial, as they thrive throughout most of the country. They tolerate less then ideal conditions and will bloom faithfully for years with virtually no attention. As the name implies, daylily flowers open in the morning and die by nightfall. Each flower stem typically has at least a dozen flower buds and the plant stays in bloom for many weeks. They should be planted in every garden. Yellow Punch daylilies are descendants of the all famous Everydaylily Stelle D'oro Hemerocallis, which flower early, often and until fall. It is a newer variety appreciated for its re-peat flowering and yellow, coral rose blooms. Its looks exotic and tropical and considered an improvement over Stella D'Oro. Very versatile, drought tolerant growing in nearly any landscape. Many, many blooms each season. As mature plants are said to produce up to 400 blossoms a year.
