These appear as the plant develops. The leaf holes eventually become open, progressing toward the edges as leaves mature, explaining one of the plant's common names: split-leaf philodendron. Monstera deliciosa is an excellent focal specimen in any room and can be trained to climb or trail over a bookshelf or windowsill. It can grow up to 10 ft. Tall indoors, adding a lush, tropical feel to any space, putting on 1 ft. to 2 ft. a year. This plant is not only visually appealing but also easy to care for, making it a popular choice for both novice and experienced plant owners. It prefers bright to medium, indirect light and should be watered when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. As a tropical plant, it thrives in high humidity and temperatures between 60°F to 75°F. Keep in a humid environment or use a humidifier or pebble tray to increase humidity.
