The Sungold Cypress offers a unique take on golden evergreen foliage with its bright yellow new growth at the tips of its limbs that mature to a more subtle lime-green, its larger size which makes for an excellent feature plant and its hardy tolerance of heat, cold, disease and pests both large and small. The contrasting lemon-yellow and lime-green foliage put on a year-round display of color and the rare shoestring foliage combined with its large mounding form make for dramatic visual impact in a landscape. Because Sungold grows larger than most golden conifers, it's often selected over other cultivars to be planted as a seasonal garden feature among deciduous plants and Boxwoods especially. As the name suggest, Sungold also boasts a superior tolerance of heat, sun and drought compared to other plants with yellow foliage and remains virtually untouched by pests and disease. The Sungold Cypress Shrub lives most comfortably in USDA Cold Hardiness Zones 4 to 9 and reaches a mature height of 6 ft. with a spread of 8 ft.
