Unlike traditional high-speed saws, a cold saw operates at lower speeds for cutting metal without generating excessive heat. The G0783 offers 2 blade speeds for a variety of cutting needs. The slower 57 RPM speed setting is most effective for steel alloy and normal steel applications. The faster 114 RPM speed setting is most effective for aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. The slow cutting speeds and specially designed tooth geometry minimize heat buildup, resulting in clean, precise and burr-free cuts. The G0783 uses an 11" saw blade designed for cutting rectangular, square and round metal workpieces. A blade is not included. The T31822 2/8/55 plus 4/12/64 180T Cold Saw Blade and T31823 2/8/55 plus 4/12/64 180T Cold Saw Blade are available separately. This machine features a self-centering vise that provides maximum support, while still providing enough clearance for cutting at a variety of angles. Each vise jaw is independently adjustable left or right to provide proper blade clearance for the cut. The coolant system keeps the blade and workpiece cool, preventing heat-related damage and ensuring extended blade life. The feed rate will vary depending upon the type of material being cut, the proper flow of cutting fluid and the amount of pressure applied by the user. The G0783 manual was written by our U.S.-based Technical Documentation Department. Parts for the cold saw may be available online and shipped from the Grizzly parts warehouse in Springfield, MO.
