The Dwarf Golden Barberry is something of a rarity among deciduous plants with its season-long display of extra bright golden yellow foliage shortly combined with bright red berries in autumn. While purple-leaved plants add depth and elegance, the bright yellow foliage grown by a Golden Barberry literally brightens up a landscape and makes it shine. Since its a dwarf variety, this shrub attains a low-growing and compact form that makes it the perfect companion to larger green and purple-leaved plants. Once established, usually after its first summer, the Golden Barberry is extremely drought-tolerant and low-maintenance. This dwarf shrub is also not at all picky about its growing location, either shade or sun will be tolerated just fine by this wonderful plant. Golden Barberries are typically used for single accent planting among differently colored plants, but can also be planted along full borders to form a low-growing hedge that cheers up a landscape all season long.
